Spacious and welcoming rooms
Our stay started with check-in which we were greeted by the amazing staff. We got a chance to relax and take advantage of some of our room amenties like a full sized bath tub and amazing views from our twelfth floor room. We set a dinner reservation for Citizen Rail which boasts some of the most delish entrees and cocktails in the city, a truly underrated gem. After looking at that menu it was hard to decide what we wanted but finally settled on the bone-in ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious tallegio sauce. Our night ended with a beautiful night of local music courtesy of Sofar Sounds which was a perfect ending to a relaxing day.

Beyond its nine-track course, Lob encompasses meticulously crafted culinary and beverage offerings, a distinct team ethos, and an overarching concept that resonates with a diverse clientele. With current locations in Toronto and now Denver, CO, Lob is ready to tee up and unleash the fun.
We had a chance to come check out what is sure to become a premiere destination for fun and excitement to the Mile High City. Upon arrival we were greeted by the amazing staff who gave us a quick tour of the facility and brief introduction into the game. Simply described as part bocce ball/part golf we decided to give it a try. As we took the course we had a chance to sample some signature cocktails including the Espresso Martini and margaritas (they have a spicy version thats a must try). The nine hole layout is simple to navigate and get this is only $18 gets you unlimited play. We started off a bit rusty but once we got the hang of it we felt like seasoned veterans.
Games and cocktails aside they also boast a fine selection of shareable appetizers and mouth watering entrees. We had the chicken wings (which come in a variety of flavors), nachos and finished off with their in-house smoked ribs. Check out the rest of their menu here.

Replaced plastic laundry and dry cleaning bags in guest rooms with reusable garment bags.
Energy and Water Conservation:
LLD uses a building automation system to manage and minimize energy usage throughout the property.
Linen conservation program encourages guests to reuse their sheets and towels to conserve water and energy. As part of its “opt out of housekeeping” program, LLD has had over 400 opt outs for daily housekeeping this year - that’s more than 4,000 gallons of water saved!.
All guests and employees are encouraged to utilize the A-Line train from Denver International Airport or the RTD bus and rail services as transportation to help limit emissions. Once on property, guests are encouraged to walk, bike, or scooter around town.
LLD has a Tesla available for transporting guests via electric car and charging stations are available to guests.
Community Engagement:
Climate Change Advocacy: beginning this summer, LLD guests will have the opportunity to write postcards to politicians urging them to pass climate change legislation.
Hotels donate used linens, towels, and other materials in good condition to various nonprofits and shelters.

Safe Play: KINK Denver Rewrites Narratives

On Friday, Feb. 9th the annual KINK Denver event took place at Tracks nightclub in the Rino Arts District in Denver, Colo. The event boasts being “Denver’s largest fetish ball” and hosts an eclectic array of vendors and performers, ranging from fire dancers to stands selling 3D-printed sex toy paraphernalia.
Performances included but were not limited to live roleplay, burlesque dancers and an aerial performance done on hanging chains.
Attendees were also invited to take part in interactive stands, experiencing “shibari”, a type of rope play originated in Japan where individuals are tied up in elaborate ways, or they could also opt to be vacuum sealed. Exploration was at the forefront, and KINK was unashamed to hold space for all kinds of funfare.
Most importantly, the space created open dialogue for people to enjoy themselves in a liberated manner and explore with an emphasis on ethical practices. While the fetish community has a tendency to be infamous for its portrayal in the media, KINK Denver hopes to change that narrative through creating a space for safe sexual exploration that promotes emphatic consent.
Throughout the night there were announcements, as well as scattered signage promoting inclusivity and ethical sexual practices that highlighted the energy of KINK Denver, and how it continues to educate and serve the community in a fun, engaging manner.

NATIONAL SKATE CONTEST, RED BULL MIND THE GAP, DEBUTS IN DENVER FOR THE FIRST TIME ON JULY 21
WHAT: Red Bull is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated skate event, Red Bull Mind the Gap, debuting in Denver, CO on Friday, July 21st. This unique skateboarding competition will bring together the city’s best skateboarders for a street-style display of skill and creativity. Red Bull Mind the Gap is a flat gap competition and is run as a simple jam format with three judges choosing the best tricks over a 10-foot skate gap.
Red Bull Mind the Gap will feature a specially designed course, showcasing unique obstacles and daring gaps that will challenge the riders to push their limits. Skaters will be judged on their creativity, style, and ability to conquer the gaps, making it a true spectacle for both participants and spectators. The judging panel is composed of three leaders in the local skate community. Winners will receive cash prizes for first, second and third place.

Denver Nuggets Celebrate Their Championship With Epic Parade
After eluding the franchise since its inception the Denver Nuggets captured the 2023 NBA Championship and celebrated with an epic parade last week. The second consecutive year The City of Denver has hosted a parade as last year the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche served up the honors. The parade started at Union Station making its route along Broadway ending at Civic Center Park for the championship rally.
Red Bull Terminal Takeover Release Team Edits and Open Voting for 2023 Competition
Last month, the 303 Boards skate team traveled to New Orleans to skate and film in an airport-terminal-turned-epic-skate-park, an event called Red Bull Terminal Takeover. The team had their skate park dreams come true as they filmed throughout the terminal on a course that seemed straight out of a video game. Now, their final edit is being put to a public vote until Friday, June 2nd against 9 other teams from around the country and a chance to win $5,000 to a local charity of their choice. Back in April, a record 10 teams of skaters from all over the country took over the abandoned terminal at Louis Armstrong Airport for the third iteration of Red Bull Terminal Takeover. The teams took turns hitting every feature imaginable in the old terminal while filming their sessions. After countless hours and edits, the teams have posted their video clips and the fan vote is open now through Friday, June 2.
Teams from New Orleans, Birmingham, Nashville, Pensacola, Tupelo, Philadelphia, Houston, Tarpon Springs, Denver, and defending champs Baton Rouge will compete for votes over the next two weeks. The winning crew will receive a $5,000 prize that they can put toward a local organization of their choice.
The Return Of Casa Bonita
With mere days away from the opening of the most anticipated restaurant in the Denver area, Casa Bonita is putting the finishing touches on what is to become the premiere tourist destination in the Mile High. After extensive renovations owners Trey Parker and Matt Stone are set to unveil what can only be described as “The Disneyland of Mexican Restaurants” the quote made famous by the South Park (S3/E11 2003) episode. We had a chance to take a sneak peak before it opens its doors to the public, and while somethings remain nostalgic improvements have been made to a majority of the restaraurant with a huge emphasis on efficiency, With over 4,000 guests a day expected to come through the doors, everything from a new kitchen built out to line management will make it one of the most seamless entertainment choices in our city. New owners didn’t spare no expense as they wanted to keep as much as the historic element of the venue while improving its outdated amenities.

The biggest change will come in the form of food options as head chef Dana Rodriguez has completely taken over. The three time James Beard award winner (Super Mega Bien, Work &Class) has emphasized the “change nothing, improve everything” approach to the new menu. We got a tour of the newly built kitchen which will be responsible for feeding the masses, a window in which fresh made tortillas will capture the customers attention as they wait in line.

Denver has some of the hardest working industry people in the world. From waiters and hostesses, to bartenders and more. A day off is an absolute luxury to some of these people. Luckily for them Red Bull treated a few lucky individuals to an all out amazing day off at Winter Park Resort. All Aboard consisted of an all expenses day on the slopes including a ride on the Winter Park Express to and from the resort. An all out day on the slopes with complimentary lunch and finally a post ski/snowboard Apres party with even more food and delicious cocktails to end their epic day. A perfect way to reward some of the city’s hardest working industry folks.

One of the those lucky ones chosen was Adam Perkowski who is the bar manager at Temple Nightclub. We had a chance to catch up with Adam for a Q&A before he hit the slopes.
What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Adam Perkowski and I Am from Denver, CO.
How long have you been bartending?
I’ve been bartending 7 years but currently I’ve been the bar manager of Temple Nightclub for the last 3 years.
What’s the funnest aspect of your job?
The funnest part of my job is the people. I love working in a place that brings all sorts of people together to have a fun night of dancing, letting go, and escaping reality for a little. Not to mention the music is fire.

What advice would you give to somebody starting off or wanting to become a bartender?
As far as advice I’d give anyone on doing anything is to really want it and show up with a positive attitude. Anyone can teach you a job, but no one can teach you the way you apply yourself to it.
What’s the craziest story you have encountered as a bartender?
Oh man this is a good one. I’ve seen an 85 year old woman take a body shot off of a hot bro for her birthday. I’ve seen someone sign their marriage certificate on our bar because that’s where they met. I’ve seen someone slowly roller skate towards a garage door to catch their balance only to face plant. The stories never stop and they’re usually full of fun and laughs.
What are looking forward to today?
Today I’m most looking forward to spending the day with a bunch of fam from the industry, having a fun day off together, getting to know each other better, and being a rowdy a** mess together. Thank you Red Bull for creating a fun event for all of us!
